What Is My Life Purpose?

Discovering my purpose was challenging, as I had no guidance until I immersed myself deeply in personal development.

After graduating from UC Davis with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1998, I was hired by Allied Signal, Inc., a leading manufacturer of aerospace systems and components that later merged with Honeywell International, Inc., in 1999. My role was to assist a Ph.D. chemist who regularly worked with chemical fumes. Without my knowledge, and without hers, I was not equipped to handle exposure to hydrochloric acid fumes.

During one of my first assignments, I spent about 20 minutes assisting her in the lab, inhaling hydrochloric acid fumes. The exposure caused me to faint and collapse on the floor. I was rushed to the ER immediately. After this incident, I spoke with my doctor about my growing fear of working in a laboratory setting. She advised me to seek a different career path, and I took her advice to heart.

I soon transitioned to a new role as a Pipe Designer in a team of 70 Mechanical Engineers at General Electric (GE). As a Chemical Engineer tasked with designing pipe systems for a boiling water reactor, I quickly realized I was out of my depth. My coworkers were incredibly supportive and completed much of my work for me, ensuring our project was the first to be completed. Despite their kindness, I felt completely lost and disconnected from the work.

During my time at GE, I frequently found myself daydreaming of a job that would ignite my passion and fill me with joy. I could see myself laughing and smiling, but I had no idea what that job might be or where I might find it. Eventually, I decided to leave GE. My coworkers urged me to stay, even offering to continue doing my work, but I knew I had to move on.

I went on to work for several high-tech companies, but the sense of fulfillment still eluded me. I eventually returned to GE in a different role, designing databases for another group. Although I enjoyed the creative aspect of the work, I still felt lost and out of place.

In 2004, I decided to stay home after the birth of my first child, and I continued to stay home after the birth of my second. In 2009, I applied for a loan processor position at Pacificwide and was accepted. Initially, I had no strong feelings about the job, but that changed when I met a sweet lady who has joined Pacificwide as a real estate agent. After meeting her a few times, she suddenly disappeared for several months. When she returned, she told me she had been in the hospital, where the doctors had nearly lost her. Despite her son’s urging to move to Los Angeles and live with his family, she chose to stay and work to support herself.

Her story deeply moved me. Here was someone who, despite her health challenges and technological disadvantages, was determined to work and care for herself. I began to reflect on my own situation: "You are healthy, but you lack passion for your work, while someone else, with far greater challenges, is fighting to keep going. Are you ashamed of yourself? What are you doing to help others?"

This realization spurred me to learn everything I could to support the agents and brokers at Pacificwide. As I gained more knowledge and started helping others, I discovered a newfound love for Real Estate and the people I worked with. Over time, I realized that my true passion lay in caring for and supporting others. Work transformed from a job into a source of joy and fulfillment.

Finally, I found the answer I had been searching for: my passion is rooted in love and service to others.

This passion propelled me to become a Mortgage Coach and a caring Loan Manager at Pacificwide. In 2020, when the pandemic struck and everyone had to shelter in place for several months, I noticed that many people were scared and confused when they returned to work. To help them regain their confidence and unlock their true potential, I decided to introduce weekly personal development training sessions. This was a big step for me, as each one-hour session required 30 hours of preparation. I had to learn and create the material simultaneously.

As I delved deeper into personal development, I fell in love with the subject. Once again, I found myself deeply passionate about transforming people's lives. I realized that my true joy and happiness now come from witnessing participants' life transformations that occur through each of my workshops. I am deeply grateful to have discovered my life’s purpose. Every moment of my day is filled with joy because I am doing what I love.

My mission is to help others find their purpose as well, so they can find meaning in everything they do and enjoy every moment of their lives. When you live with purpose, work no longer feels like work; it becomes a source of joy and fulfillment.

If you ever find yourself asking, 'What am I here for?' or 'What is my life purpose?' or 'What will make me feel truly alive?' don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
